Live like a Rock Star on a 160 Codecasa Charter Yacht

If you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like to live the life of a famous rock star, like U2’s vocalist Bono or guitarist Edge, chartering one of their own personal megayachts would be a step in the right direction. And Cyan, a 160 Codecasa built in 1997 and completely re-fitted in 2008, is available for charter in the Mediterranean from Burgess Yachts—providing just such an opportunity.

Which one of these stars owns this megayacht? That’s a good question, because there are plenty of sources saying that Cyan is Bono’s yacht, and plenty of others claiming Edge has ownership. The band is staying mum. “We don’t comment on the private lives of band members,” said a spokesperson for U2 in regards to a request for more details about Cyan.
Either way, one thing is for sure: if you want a taste of how a music legend lives, some time on Cyan is just what the doctor ordered. Features include a baby grand piano, a fully-equipped gym, a Jacuzzi, and an outdoor movie/entertainment area with a three meter drop-down screen. Watertoys run the gamut, from a pair of Novurania tenders, to a pair of Seabobs, to a pair of Waverunners. This megayacht even carries a kite-surfer, plus snorkeling and fishing gear.
Cyan is a six-stateroom yacht, which is crewed by 11 and carries up to a dozen passengers. A pair of 2,285-hp diesels provide a cruising speed of 14 knots, and VSAT, Satcom, and WiFi ensure you stay linked in as you cruise.
As if you hadn’t already guessed, a megayacht owned by a mega-musician is also bound to have a mega stereo system—which was said to be designed by Bono himself. Or, Edge. Or, considering the capricious nature of the reporting on this topic, it may well have been designed by Harman Cardon himself. While we can't say for sure, we can tell you one more thing: a megayacht owned (maybe) by the mega-famous is also mega-expensive to charter. In fact, at the time of this writing the Cyan was being offered for between $209,000 and $230,000 a week, during the summer months. If you can afford it, then "U2" can spend a week living like… someone.
